An Anaheim police officer and his K9 dog were in pursuit of a suspect and Bruno the police dog caught up to the suspect before the other police officers. Once cornered the suspect shot Bruno point blank in the head.
Bruno immediately ran to his partner officer and collapsed in his arms. While the other officers on scene took the suspect into custody Officer Young immediately rushed Bruno to the Veterinary Emergency Room. The doctors discovered the bullet broke Bruno’s jaw, passed through his lungs and long within an inch from his heart. It was a miracle Bruno was still alive.
Bruno is now happily and deservedly retired living with his brother (Officer Young) who will take care of Bruno’s medical bills and let Bruno live out his life happy and loved.
