Choose a costume based on something you think your dog will like. Make sure the costume fits properly and does not restrict you dog or his physical well being in any way. Do a trail run with your dog in his costume before making him wear it for a long period of time.
Always keep your dog on a leash while he is in his costume. It is never recommended to take your dog trick or treating.
Finally never leave your dog unattended.
