Abused Dog Lets Rescuer Touch Him For The First Time
All to often dogs belong to families that have no business owning a dog. Dogs are meant to be part of a family that gives and receives love. Unfortunately, abuse can result in many of the situations and the abusive can become unbelievable.
Phoenix had known nothing but abuse and pain in his life. Spending 10 years chained up in a backyard, he did not know how to give or accept love. People from the neighborhood finally called the police to come and take Phoenix to a shelter.

After spending some time with the local police department, the police were not sure what to do with Phoenix. Finally, Phoenix was taken to Takis shelter in Crete Greece. The shelter is named after the owner Takis. Phoenix did not want to leave the dog carrier when he first arrived and ant attempt to make contact was responded with growling, snarled teeth, and defensive aggression. Phoenix never new any kindness for human being.
Persistence, patience, and calm as Phoenix became so exhausted of defensive, aggressive behavior that he finally gives in to human touch. He is praised when he finally allows affection.
Takis explained that “It took Phoenix some time to get used to the fact that a hand doesn’t mean pain”. Phoenix now is well behaved and gets along at the shelter. Even the cats! Love is powerful and can overcome all.
Anytime you feel the is dog abusive please do not be hesitant to contact the authorities. If your wrong it can be cleared up, but if your right you may be saving a life.
