Some people actually believe a dog is a dog and all dogs pretty much act the same. They could not be more incorrect. Truth is just about every different breed of dog has their own different traits and personalities.
Spending time with your dog will ultimately reveal his different traits over time. Many differ breeds of dogs are identified and known for their different personalities. Below are 5 dog breeds we have chosen and what kind of personalities that they are best known for.
5 DOG BREEDS
LABRADOR RETRIEVER
One of the all-time favorite dog breeds is the Labrador Retriever. This dog is very athletic and loves to exercise. If you are athletic, like to walk or jog this is an excellent dog for you. There are also very smart, and obedient which makes them an excellent choice for a family.
SIBERIAN HUSKY
Siberian Huskies are sometimes considered to be somewhat “aloof”. They are very self-confident and tend to just want to do their own thing. They love to be outdoors, and they love to play, especially outside. The are loving and friendly generally yet can show an aggressive behavior in certain circumstances.
FRENCH BULLDOG
The French Bulldog is one of the most popular small dog breeds. They are a very fun-loving breed that will give you hours of entertainment when they are pups, are mature into a very well-mannered adult. They do need to be raised with rule and discipline or there is a chance they can be unruly and “Barky”.
GERMAN SHEPHERD
German Shepherds can seem aloof but not overly aggressive. They are a highly intelligent breed and have incredibly good personalities. One of their traits is that they can be somewhat reserved and do not makes fiends easily. But once they have bonded with a person or a family, they are extremely protective and very loyal. This makes them an excellent choice for a watchdog.
CHOW CHOW
The Chow Chow is a serious, dignified dog. Their main personality trait is stubbornness, and they do not particularly care if you happy or pleased by them or not. Many compare the Chow Chow personality to that of a cat. They are however generally friendly and if raised properly can be a good and affectionate family dog. It is important to socialize this dog from a young age or he my think he is the pack leader of your family.
Just as with humans, personalities are not always easy to understand. So basic guidelines are helpful when you are considering adopting or purchasing a dog. Once you are an owner understanding your dog’s personality with help you and your dog have a less stressful relationship.
